My Mission

Understand the underlying reasons for presenting symptoms through psychological assessments and consultation.

Jacqueline Herrera,

PsyD

Dr. Herrera is a licensed clinical psychologist working with children (ages 6+), adolescents, and adults. She is passionate about creating a supportive environment for her patients to overcome the challenges they face. She specializes in psychological assessments, as it is a valuable tool for understanding the underlying reason behind many symptoms (e.g., anxiety, depression, inattention, impulsivity, and trauma). She has extensive experience helping families better understand their children and create a treatment plan. Dr. Herrera understands that her patients do not exist in a vacuum — they are affected by the family dynamics, cultures, and systems around them. This understanding of intersectional identity helps Dr. Herrera to support her patients in addressing issues related to culture, processing the negative effects of racism, and integrating their spirituality.

Dr. Herrera provides various services to help her patients, including personality and neurocognitive assessments and several specialized evaluations required by medical professionals and agencies. During assessments, Dr. Herrera approaches clients with compassion, curiosity, and warmth. Dr. Herrera conducts comprehensive psychological evaluations for children and adults related to various concerns, such as ADHD, autism, and others, that include cognitive and personality functioning. Dr. Herrera fosters a warm and supportive environment where her patients can express themselves, learn new skills, and achieve their goals—her twelve years of experience in the field provided her with the insight to support patients through her professional network. Dr. Herrera sees patients in person for psychological evaluations in the Alamo Heights area in San Antonio, Texas. She also sees clients via telehealth on a case-by-case basis. She is licensed in 38 states through the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) Granted by the PSYPACT Commission in December 2022.

Dr. Herrera, who is bilingual, provides psychological assessments in English and Spanish.

Dr. Herrera’s educational and professional experience has equipped her well to address the concerns of children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Herrera earned her doctorate in clinical psychology with an emphasis on family psychology and consulting from Azusa Pacific University in California. She completed her psychology residency at the University of Texas Health San Antonio and her postdoctoral fellowship at Clarity Child Guidance Center.
